Intro

Phykvanto is an SME that provides multi-disciplinary design and technical consulting to public institutions, governmental authorities and private companies in the sphere of natural sciences, hydraulic, and environmental engineering, located in the Coimbra region, centre of Portugal. Research and Development activities are carried by maintaining a direct connection with academic partners in the top engineering institutions in the country. The company offers services towards the hydraulic safeguard of territory and the management of water resources, with particular reference to: flood mitigation studies; analysis of flow forming processes in natural and artificial water bodies; numerical modelling of flows through complex geometries; evaluation of complex phenomena such as sediment transport, coastal erosion and pollutant transport and dispersion. Recent work has focused on characterizing high-risk environmental flows at scales ranging from local infrastructure to full river reaches, using advanced and innovative numerical models.
